Jenna Ortega's latest transformation has received widespread acclaim after the actress revealed a striking new look on social media this week.

Ortega took the spotlight in an interview with The Cut for their April/May issue, discussing her newest film, Death of a Unicorn, and her exit from the Scream series in 2023.

Fans noticed the dramatic difference in Ortega's appearance in several photos from the magazine shoot - and it wasn't solely due to her varied wardrobe choices.

The bold new style - shared on her Instagram - certainly complements Ortega, with many fans flooding the comments to express their admiration for her transformation.

It turns out that the Wednesday actress had actually lightened her eyebrows for the shoot.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens commented: "Kind of obsessed with you and these eyebrows," while another user said: "Bleached brows are definitely working for us."

Another admirer stated: "Jenna, my queen, I adore the new look."

Meanwhile, someone else added: "You look stunning."

Although some followers weren't fans of the style, one person remarked: "These comments about her eyebrows? Really, come on!

"It's not up to you to decide what she does with her body! If she wants to bleach her eyebrows, she absolutely can!

"Making silly comments about her eyebrows, in my opinion, is pointless. This is one reason I dislike social media. She doesn't deserve this negativity. Personally, I think she looks fabulous either way!"

This isn't the first time Ortega has showcased her bleached brows.

During a press tour for her upcoming film, Hurry Up Tomorrow, in Las Vegas, Ortega was seen with her normally dark eyebrows lightened.

The movie, featuring Barry Keoghan and The Weeknd, explores the story of 'a musician troubled by insomnia [who] embarks on an odyssey with a stranger [and] begins to unravel the essence of his existence'.

It seems bleached eyebrows are currently a growing trend, with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, and Sienna Miller experimenting with the look recently.

Miller's make-up artist, Wendy Rowe, told Vogue: “You can dramatically alter the shape of someone’s face by lightening the eyebrows, or even removing them entirely.

“I kept the look very contemporary, adding more definition to the face with layers of eyeliner and mascara, yet maintaining a youthful vibe with a dewy base and soft pink lip.”

It's not advisable to attempt eyebrow bleaching at home, with brow expert Anu Khapung cautioning: “I would never advise anyone to lighten or bleach their eyebrows at home. The risk isn’t worth it, and you often won’t achieve optimal results.”
